Sailing

New to racing or a seasoned veteran, then Chase can accommodate your racing requirements. We are a friendly yet take our racing serious. The committee and the sailing secretary are always looking to improve what the club offers to our members.

Organised club racing takes place on a Wednesday (start time 7pm) during the summer months, check out our calendar for the series starting. Wednesdays are aimed at people that want to enjoy an evenings sailing and partake in a series. If you can't get down at weekends or are just looking for some extra practice why not join us on Wednesdays, we would be glad to see you.

Saturday (start time 12pm)

Our race series on Saturdays is our club racing day, if your a beginner, then don't worry we have a pursuit race to start with and there always plenty of help and advice around. For those with more experience the pursuit race offers you the chance to start in a fleet, if there's others in your class and to pitch your skills against other classes.

Our handicap races are normally 60min and follow the pursuit once we have all had a break, a great chance to brush up on your starting skills or enjoy some fabulous racing. there's always a good turnout with many experienced sailors offering beginner and intermediate sailors advice. Why not join us?

First race is a 60 min pursuit race, start time is 12pm

Second race is a club handicap race, start time 13.30.

Third race is a club handicap race, start time 15.00.

Sunday.

There is an informal improver group called 'Rookie Racing', operating on Sundays which is suitable for all newcomers who have previously attended level 1 & 2 courses and want to increase their skills and is a great step into club racing. This is the perfect opportunity to meet and make friends with other novice club sailors, share practise, build up confidence with other sailing members getting you to the stage of joining in club racing series on Saturday afternoons all year round and Wednesday evenings in the summer months.
