Model Boat Club
Chasewater Model Boat Club meets courtesy of The Chase Sailing Club on Sunday mornings from around 10.00 am and most Tuesday evenings from April onwards when weather and light prevails.
We are a small and friendly group sailing scale boats, fast electric boats and sailing yachts and was first formed in 2011. We previously sailed on the other side of the lake, but since the sailing pond has been filled in and re-purposed we're now enjoying the benefits and hospitality of The Chase Sailing Club with all the facilities that they offer.
If you can drive an rc car or fly an rc plane you're almost certain to be able to sail an rc boat, the only difference is you may get a bit wetter!!
We actively race small electric boats on the second Sunday of every month called Club 500 which is a cheap way into the hobby with boat kits approx £50 plus radio equipment and is good cheap fun which means that if they get broken they're easy enough to fix!!
Some of our members enjoy fast electric boats which can achieve speeds approaching 60mph when water conditions allow and isn't for the faint hearted, whilst some prefer the more sedate scale models with tugs and tankers taking to the water with steering events being held around marker buoys. RC sailing yachts are also regularly in attendance so we pretty well cater for most aspects of the hobby.
Please come and say hello and have a look at what we get up to.
