Dinghy & Power Boat Training at Chase Sailing Club – 2008

ADULT DINGHY

Chase SC is an RYA approved training centre, and all of our courses are delivered with enthusiasm and professionalism. Our aim is to offer a complete Learn to Sail experience starting with the RYA National sailing scheme levels 1, 2 and leading onto RYA Seamanship, Sailing with Spinnakers and Start Racing courses.

Learn to sail in our comfortable and stable teaching boats, our new Omega and refurbished Wayfarer are very reassuring and a pleasure to sail. Once you have achieved levels 1 and 2 and have joined the club, you can hire one of our dedicated club hire boats The Magno 2-3 person boat, is great fun with an easy to handle Asymmetric Spinnaker or a Pico 1-2 person boat, a super dinghy in which to start Single Handing.

NEW...starting this spring the Club will be running post course practise sessions on Sunday mornings, ideal for all newcomers or for those who previously attended level 1 & 2 courses and need to brush up on their skills. This is the perfect opportunity to meet and make friends with other novice club sailors, share practise, build up confidence and swap telephone numbers with other sailing buddies.

YOUTH SAILING @ CHASEWATER

Youth Sailing @ Chasewater is a fun and friendly way for youngsters (aged 10 to 18 or whilst in full time education) to sail, whether learning from scratch or improving existing skills.

We offer a full training programme, run by RYA qualified instructors, which sees absolute beginners sailing solo in as little as two sessions, if they feel confident enough to do so.

We operate on Saturday mornings (9.30 - 1.00) from Easter to mid-October. Our fleet of boats, range from single handed Toppers, Picos and Lasers through two-man Fevas to multiple-crew Wayfarers, provides a variety of sailing experiences.

This activity is fully supervised by RYA qualified instructors with rescue facilities provided at all times.

It’s a great way for young people to be introduced to sailing and gain RYA qualifications.

Windsurf Training at Chase Sailing Club – 2008

ADULT  & YOUTH WINDSURFING

Here at Chase we would welcome you to your first taste of what is an exciting and dynamic sport for all ages and ability.

We are an RYA Training Centre, which has been independently inspected to create informative and enjoyable courses in a safe learning environment.

We run the RYA National Windsurfing Scheme at our approved centre with nationally recognised and qualified instructors. The RYA Scheme has been designed to take you progressively through the skills required to become a competent windsurfer in a variety of conditions. Each level enables you to log your progress, set goals and enhance your knowledge and understanding of the sport. In addition to the practical elements, each session covers an amount of windsurfing and related background knowledge.

T15

T15 is a Club for children and young people who have completed a level 1/ Start Windsurfing course. Once they can sail out and back, 8 -15 year olds can join T15, which meets on Thursday evenings in the summer months from 5.30 to 8.00 pm, to develop their skills and have fun on the water.

Some Chase Aces have their own kit; others hire a set of T15 kit to practise on. We have various sail sizes which sailors can try.

There are also T15 events across the region and keen sailors can go along to various lakes to pick up top tips for going faster. Parents are always surprised how quickly their children progress when they are able to encourage and challenge one another. For the past two years we have run some weekend sessions in the autumn too.

£2.50 – per session; £5 – kit hire for one evening. Members of T15 can come along for 3 evenings on trial to see if they want to join; they will then need to become Club members which means that they can come along to any weekend and autumn training sessions and (if they have their own kit) can sail outside T15 training times.

The T15 Thursday evening activity operates alongside other Club training.
